Mudslides and flooding was reported in and around Bridgeport after thunderstorms dumped very heavy rain in a brief period of time. A clogged and flooded culvert in Bridgeport led to basement flooding in a few homes. Road flooding was also reported in Martin's Ferry, Warnock and Glencoe. Route 800, just south of Somerton, was closed due to flood waters. A roof over a bank's drive-through collapsed under the weight of the heavy rain in Colerain. It was stated that perhaps the flat-topped canopy was weak or the drains were clogged. The roof collapsed in the center from water buildup, leaving the supports standing. In Powhatan Point, where 1 inch of rain fell within 45 minutes, there was flooding on LLittle Captina Creek. The basement of a home also collapsed due to the heavy rain.
