A tornado touched down at 958 PM CDT about 3 miles north of Holden. The tornado tracked northeastward along a path between the Blackwater River and Route U eventually crossing the Blackwater and Highway 50 about 2 miles east of the intersection with Route M.

A tornado touched down at 958 PM CDT about 3 miles north of Holden. The tornado tracked northeastward along a path between the Blackwater River and Route U eventually crossing the Blackwater and Highway 50 about 2 miles east of the intersection with Route M. The tornado then continued a path through open country finally lifting near Route UU about 4 miles east of Columbus. The path of the tornado was about 12 miles in length and less than a half mile wide. Johnson County emergency management reported tree damage and the destruction of several barns from the tornado.
