A mountain lake tunneled uner a glacier last week and drained into Snow river, raising water levels by several feet as the flow traveled through Kenai Lake and the Kenai River. The lake held the equivalent of 100,000 acres of water a foot deep.

A mountain lake tunneled uner a glacier last week and drained into Snow river, raising water levels by several feet as the flow traveled through Kenai Lake and the Kenai River. The lake held the equivalent of 100,000 acres of water a foot deep. primrose Campground and some camping units near Cooper Landing at Quartz Creek and Cooper Creek were evacuated on Sunday. Minor damage was reported to the campgrounds...however there was no reported damage to private homes. Evacuations were NOT necessary.
