Scattered severe thunderstorms moved through the southern half of Wisconsin and generated damaging winds and large hail. For west-central Wisconsin it was the first severe weather of the season. Three-quarter inch hail fell just south of Berlin (Green Lake County) and southwest of Omro (Winnebago County). Hail up to 1.75 inches in diameter fell just east of Monroe Center (Adams County), but did no damage. Another powerful storm generated spotter-estimated winds gusts to 65 mph at Strum (Trempeauleau County). As the severe storms moved east they dumped hail up to mothball-size in Wauwatosa (Milwaukee County).
