Thunderstorm winds tore a portion of the roof off an apartment complex and knocked down a sign six miles northwest of Lexington and downed trees, three miles west of Lexington, three miles east of Bedford City, nine miles south-southwest of Lexington and in Fincastle. Heavy rainfall washed out a road one mile northwest of Willis and covered two roads in several locations seven to eleven miles west of Blacksburg.
