Severe thunderstorms moved across western portions of North Texas, producing hail as large as quarters west of Holliday in Archer County and 1 mile south of Wichita Falls in Wichita County. Power lines and an 18-inch diameter tree were also downed by severe thunderstorm winds in Wichita Falls.

Strong gradient winds and downbursting winds combined to cause damage in a 4.5-mile-wide path in the northeastern part of the county. Large tree limbs were broken, along with roof damage and much corrugated metal thrown about. An instrumented tower in the heart of the damage recorded an 81.1 mph peak gust at 10 meters and an 89.8 peak gust at 50 meters.
