A line of thunderstorms moving east out of New Mexico formed a bow echo. A truck was jackknifed 11 miles north of Lamesa by the strong winds. Four utility poles were snapped north of Lamesa. A local radio station in Lamesa recorded 68 mph winds. Many trees in Lamesa were downed, some onto cars and houses, according to the sheriff's office. As the line of storms started to turn southeast, 60 mph winds were reported by the public in Three Leagues. In Stanton, wind gusts up to 85 mph were reported.
