Thunderstorms produced large hail in a strip one mile long and three miles wide west of the city of Mason. Trees were stripped of their leaves and hail was piled up to 12 inches deep in places. Cars were dented and windows were broken in homes and buildings. Grass and vegetation was reported to have been beaten to the ground in the storm. The thunderstorm moved northeastward but produced no large hail in Mason.

North Texas,A thunderstorm that developed at 0200 CST on the 18th over southern Comanche County moved rapidly northeast and became severe over northern Hamilton County. This severe cell continued moving northeastward at up to 50 mph through 0700 CST, producing widespread hail up to softball size and wind damage across the south-central and northeastern portions of North Texas. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage was caused by the storm.
