The fire consumed the attic and second floor of the house. The first floor suffered extensive smoke and water damage. Total damage was estimated at $200,000. Lightning also caused power outages to about 1,050 customers in Mount Holly Springs and Newville.

A severe thunderstorm caused extensive damage at the Locust Manor Mobile Home Park in Fairview Township. Two mobile homes were destroyed, another was severely damaged, 15 other suffered moderate damage, and the remaining 14 had minor damage. Trees were uprooted throughout the park and caused most of the damage. In addition three cars were totaled and five sheds were blown away. The only minor injury occurred after the storm ended. Elsewhere in northern York County about 3,000 customers lost power during the thunderstorm.
