Severe thunderstorms developed in northeast Oklahoma during the late evening of January 16th and continued into the very early morning hours of January 17th. Large hail accompanied the storms, with quarter-size hail just northwest of Mannford, at Drumright, at the intersection of Kenosha and Elm Streets in Broken Arrow, and nine miles north of Oneta. Dime-size hail fell at the intersection of 71st Street and Riverside Drive in Tulsa, near the intersection of Washington and Beech Streets in Broken Arrow, at Catoosa, and just northwest of Muskogee.
