The powerful storm that brought high winds to Western Oregon spawned a small line of severe thunderstorms that moved through the Portland metropolitan area including Vancouver Washington. Big trees were blown down, and winds damaged the roof of the Rose Garden arena under construction near downtown Portrland. Power was also knocked out to the National Weather Service Doppler radar situated atop Dixie Mountain 13 miles northwest of Portland International Airport.
