Severe thunderstorms uprooted trees and downed power lines in most townships in the southeast half of Monmouth County. Hardest hit were Englishtown, Colts Neck, Freehold and Howell Township (A tree fell on a house.). In Ocean Grove, the wind broke a support beam and caused the collapse of the vacant Queen Hotel. The over 100-year-old hotel was undergoing renovation.

A squall line generated thunderstorms that downed several trees and power lines. A few cars were damaged by these downed trees. Heavy rain also caused some roadways to flood across Bergen County.

A little farther north, the same thunderstorm uprooted several trees in Dover Township, one damaging a house and swept a mobile home from its foundation in the Homestead Run Mobile Home Park.
