A small section of Cass County received significant crop damage due to hail. Marble to golf ball-size hail completely destroyed 500 to 1,000 acres of corn and soybeans, and partially destroyed another 1,000 acres. The Buccaneer Bay golf course received $10,000 damage to its greens and there was considerable damage to area roofs.

Severe thunderstorms moved southeast across central Nebraska. Hardest hit were Valley and Sherman Counties where wind gusts to 65 mph and three-quarters inch hail inflicted tree and roof damage. The storms also damaged crops, finishing off some fields which were damaged two days earlier. In Marquette, a man suffered minor injuries when he was struck by lightning as he was closing his garage door.
