A very large basswood tree was uprooted by winds that were estimated to be between 60 and 70 mph, at Lincoln Golf Course, located about halfway between Muskegon and Whitehall. The base of the tree trunk was at least three feet in diameter. The base of the uprooted tree roots and dirt measured 25 feet across. Very strong winds were reported throughout the county but other damage was minor.
