A fire department official saw a small tornado develop in a field behind the Holly Beach Fire House. It was only on the ground for five minutes. This storm was in a rainband of Tropical Storm Dean. The only other effect from Tropical Storm Dean was minor flooding on Highway 82 between Holly Beach and Johnson's Bayou due to a high tide of 3.75 feet at the Cameron tide gauge. The time this occurred was primarily near high tides. The highest wind gust recorded at the Lake Charles.
