During the early morning hours thunderstorms produced street flooding in Monmouth where 16 to 18 inches of water covered several roadways until storm sewers could catch up on drainage. Strong winds downed several trees blocking roads and taking out power and cable television lines. Power was lost to about 130 Monmouth residents. Later in the afternoon thunderstorm winds blew a large tree down in the community of Galena but only produced minor damage.

Thunderstorm winds blew down the roof of a motel that was being constructed. Six workers were injured, none seriously. Also, at another nearby construction site, the top two floors of a three story townhouse complex were flattened. No one was injured in that incident. No damage estimate was available.
