A tornado, 15-feet wide sporatically touched down along a six mile path as it moved south over Pine Island. The first brief touchdown occurred near Pine Island Center where it rolled a 2,000 pound flatbed tractor-semitrailer 150 feet across a grass field. The tornado continued south across Pine Island where 50 large insulation panels for a church were launched by the tornadic winds over a thousand feet into the air. Several large trees were uprooted as it sporadically touched down as it moved south across the Island. The tornado lifted and dissipated near St. James City on Pine Island.
