Severe thunderstorms erupted over northern Platte county early on the evening of the 3rd, and moved southeast across the rest of Platte, northeastern Laramie and southern Goshen counties. Several trees, power poles and fences were blown down north of Wheatland cutting power to that area. Hail up to the size of golf balls covered the ground with drifts eight inches deep 10 miles southeast of Wheatland.
