A severe thunderstorm caused strong winds from Reese Air Force Base (10 miles west of Lubbock) into Lubbock. Wind gusts between 60 and 65 knots were recorded at Reese Air Force Base, and one large tree was partially blown over there. The high winds knocked down two small fences in Lubbock and slightly damaged one building.
