Bow echo moved across western portion of Galveston Island (Jamaica Beach) producing winds of 80 to 100 mph. These winds were recorded by three citizens who owned home base anemometers. The highest wind recorded was 102 mph. Damage was minimal since most homes in this region were on stilts in this region. Only damage was some breakaway walls on the ground floor were blown down.

A severe thunderstorm formed along the Rio Grande River as a cold front was moving through deep South Texas. The storm produced hail up to one-inch in diameter and very strong wind gusts near Weslaco. As the storm moved eastward, it continued to produce hail in eastern Hidalgo and western Cameron County. Hail up to golf ball-size fell in the west side of Harlingen. Marble-size hail was reported between Weslaco and Harlingen in the towns of La Feria and Los Fresnos.

As the cold front moved southward through south-central Texas, thunderstorms began to form along the boundary. As the cold front reached the city of Laredo, one storm became severe. It produced golf ball-sized hail along with brief heavy rain and strong winds. Windspeeds were not known, but were sufficient to blow down several trees. Power was out to parts of the city through the afternoon.
