DPS trooper reported hail from 0.75- to 1-inch in diameter falling along highway 90 E just eas of the Laughlin Air Force Base front gate. Two VIP 6 storms had merged just east of the base about 1500 CST.

Madisonville Emergency Medical Service reported four mobile homes turned over. A 18-year-old boy witnessed the tornado.

Tornado began on west shore of Lake Houston, crossed the lake then crossed the east shore in Indian Shores Estates. The air survey located minor damage and trees down on the west shore of the lake. Eye witnesses observed the tornado over the lake and WSR-88D reflectivity/ velocity data indicated a strong low-level mesocyclone near the west shore of the lake just prior to the first tornado reports. The tornado moved across the east shore of the lake and into Indian Shores Estates around 1710 CST and produced a damage path 300 to 400-yards wide and approximately 2.5 miles in length that ended about 1.5 miles east of the intersection of FM 2100 and Heathergate. One woman was killed in a mobile home, and 20 received injuries in the area.

Thunderstorms moving eastward through Medina County produced widespread wind damage. The Red Cross reported that 32 homes were destroyed, 44 had major damage, and 194 homes had minor damage. Numerous mobile homes suffered roof and wall damage. The city of Castroville was without power from 1639 CST until 0530 CST the next morning. Very heavy rain accompanied the storms, reducing visibility to near zero. Some of the residents reported a dark green color to the clouds just before the storm stuck. Although no large hail was reported, the hail piled into drifts along the side of the road just west of D'Hanis. Very little damage was reported at the Castroville Airport as most aircraft were tied down or put away at the time of the storms.

The Sheriffs Department reported that a tornado touched down briefly near Three Rivers. An off-duty Department of Public Safety Trooper saw the tornado as it descended toward the ground. It knocked down a tree before moving back up into the clouds.

The Sheriff's Department reported damage across much of the county. Thunderstorms moving through Bee County knocked down numerous trees and more than 30 power lines. Ten mobile homes suffered structural damage or were destroyed, and a house was damaged. The damage was very sporadic across the county, leading some to question whether a tornado might have occurred. No funnels or tornadoes, however, were reported to have been sighted. No injuries were indicated.

The Alice Airport reported a wind gust to 48 knots.
