An area of thunderstorms, some locally severe, moved from west of Savannah northeast across southern and eastern South Carolina from Jasper County to Georgetown County. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and powerlines, damaged roofs, and caused other minor damage. Gusts over 57 mph were reported in Beaufort and 65-70 mph, five miles southwest of Summerville.
