Thunderstorm Wind, Montgomery

Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down throughout Montgomery County. Power outages affected a 70 square mile area within the county and included about 15,000 customers. It took beyond 10:00 pm for the power to come back on. Communities hardest hit by the severe thunderstorms included Collegeville, Lansdale (gust to 58 mph measured), Limerick, Linfield, Royersford and Spring Ford. Three buildings were also struck by lightning. In neighboring Chester County intense lightning caused power outages to an additional 10,000 customers.
