Thunderstorms moved through the Oklahoma panhandle producing quarter-size hail and winds to near 75 mph. Most of the reports came from county sheriff's office's and police departments.

Scattered thunderstorms moved across parts of central and southern Oklahoma duing the afternoon. Lightning struck an oil tank battery in Marshall County setting it on fire. In Grady County SH 19 was closed between Alex and Chickasha due to high water and a mobile home was destroyed by thunderstorm winds 2 miles south of Alex. Damage was estimated at $20,000.

An isolated severe thunderstorm developed in McIntosh County of east central Oklahoma during the afternoon of September 8th. The storm produced dime- to quarter-size hail just east of Eufaula and quarter-size hail which covered the ground eight miles northeast of Eufaula.
