Damaging wind gusts tore down power lines throughout the county. The Walt Whitman Bridge was also closed because of severe winds.
A lightning strike ignited a fire which destroyed part of an office building occupied by the Techplan Corporation in Marlton. Damaging wind gusts uprooted trees and downed power lines throughout the county. The greatest concentration was in the northwest half. Frequent lightning also resulted in power outages to 12,000 Public Service Electric and Gas customers.
A wind gust to 62 mph was recorded in Deptford.
