A cluster of strong thunderstorms over the south portion of Tangipahoa Parish produced rainfall of four to six inches during the early morning hours resulting in flooding of streets and a few homes in the Hammond area. In addition, thunderstorm wind gusts downed several trees, and destroyed a utility building east of Pontchatoula.
