Severe thunderstorms moved across much of north and central Louisiana during the afternoon and evening producing hail, mostly around an inch in size, in several location along with damaging wind gusts. Most of the wind damage was confined to downing of a few trees and large tree branches, which resulted in downed power lines. From media accounts, the area around Natchitoches was especially hard hit with numerous reports of large tree limbs down and a few trees knocked over. The thunderstorms produced wind gusts to 55 mph (49 knots) as they passed over Lake Pontchartrain.
