Numerous thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front approaching from the northwest. A couple of these storms produced damaging winds which downed a few trees in Danbury and numerous trees and power lines in Cheshire. There were also some reports of hail with the Cheshire storm. In addition a couple of homes were seriously damaged by fire after being struck by lightning.
