A mid-afternoon thunderstorm downed trees and power lines in many parknots of Cullman County. Between 12,000 and 15,000 electric customers were without power for a short time during the afternoon. Communities with specific problems included Bremen, Colony, East Point, Fairview, Arkadelphia, and Baileyton.
Three-quarter inch hail was reported in south Clay County.
Numerous trees were reported down in southern Randolph County especially in the areas between Wedowee and Wadley and between Wedowee and Roanoke.
Numerous large trees were downed by thunderstorm wind in the northern section of the county near Lincoln. One tree fell on a truck resulting in one fatality. Large hail was also reported with the storm which came up rapidly and lasted only a brief time according to EMA officials.
Morgan County Sheriff's Office reported high wind and trees down along Highway 55 about five miles west of Falkville.
