An upper level disturbance caused scattered thunderstorms to develop over northwest Utah. These thunderstorms produced brief heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and very strong and gusty winds. A spotter in West Valley City reported a single gust to 60 mph. Other higher gusts in the same area ranged from 46 to 53 mph.
