Isolated severe thunderstorms in southern Oklahoma during the afternoon and evening hours on the 24th produced strong winds, large hail and damaging lightning. Strong thunderstorm winds downed trees 5.5 miles southwest of Scipio, destroyed a mobile home 3 miles east-southeast of Holdenville and damaged several barns and houses 7 miles east of Holdenville. Lightning struck the Holdenville Police Department around 1915 CST injuring a radio dispatcher and a fireman. Most communication equipment including computers were damaged.
