A narrow tornado touched down southwest of Steelville near County Road M and tracked just south of Steelville. Numerous trees were knocked down and homes were slightly damaged. At maximum intensity the side and front of a lumber yard building on the southern edges of Steelville were heavily damaged. Debris from the lumber yard was found nearly 2 miles away.
