Great Miami River near Taylorsville

1. 60.00 ftMajor and significant flooding occurs. This is the level in which flood control levees and protection efforts are exceeded. The most significant impact is along the Rip Rap Road corridor where areas not protected by flooding experience several feet of water. Flood protected areas of Huber Heights between Rip Rap Road and the river are now inundated.
2. 58.00 ftThis is the height of the emergency spillway at Huffman. While the dam would still be storing water at this point, heights above this level would substantially worsen flooding downstream of Taylorsville in unprotected areas.
3. 36.70 ftThis is the approximate elevation of the FEMA 0.2 percent flood.
4. 32.60 ftThis is the approximate elevation of the FEMA 1 percent flood.
5. 31.50 ftThis is the highest crest on record equaling that of the 1959 flood. Areas protected by flood walls or levees are protected to a stage of 60 feet.
6. 30.00 ftHigh water forces closure of State Routes 571 and 202. Communities protected by flood walls and levees are protected to a stage of 60 feet. An increasing number of homes in the Eldorado neighborhood outside of Huber Heights are flooded.
7. 27.00 ftWater inundates several homes in the Eldorado neighborhood outside of Huber Heights between Rip Rap Road and the river.
8. 24.00 ftFlooding affects areas outside of flood protection. Tipp-Cowlesville and Sullivan Roads will be closed, in addition to numerous roads between Rip Rap Road and the river. Sections of Huber Heights near Rip Rap Road Park experience flooding, as well as Eldorado Platt. Communities which are protected by flood walls and levees are protected to a stage of 60 feet.
9. 22.00 ftIn addition to Tipp-Elizabeth Road and Eldorado Platt Road being submerged, Canal and Little York Roads are closed due to high water. Birch Drive in Harrison Township along the river begins to flood. Communities which are protected by flood walls and levees are protected to a stage of 60 feet.
10. 21.00 ftWater covers Tipp-Elizabeth Road, Rudy Road near Route 571, as well as Eldorado Platt Road. Additional roads closed due to flooding include Elizabeth-Bethel Road. Communities protected by flood walls and levees are protected to a stage of 60 feet.
11. 20.00 ftWater covers Tipp-Elizabeth Road, as well as Eldorado Platt Road. Additional roads closed due to flooding include Elizabeth-Bethel and Rudy Roads. Communities protected by flood walls and levees are protected to a stage of 60 feet.
12. 18.00 ftElizabeth-Bethel and Rudy Roads will be closed. Sections of Rip Rap, Taylorsville and Wagner-Ford Roads are under water.
