At about 1530LST on May 29, lifeguards at Spessard Holland Beach in Melbourne Beach rescued a 53 year old man from a rip current and resuscitated him. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he died approximately two weeks later. The cause of death was drowning. At about the same time of the initial incident, another lifeguard rescued two swimmers caught in a nearby rip current and noticed a third person submerged. The body of the third victim, a 20 year old male from Kissimmee, was recovered a few hours later. An autopsy confirmed he died due to drowning.

A 62 year old man from North Carolina was caught in a rip current in Daytona Beach around 1000LST on May 30 and rescued by lifeguards, but became unconscious while being brought back to shore. Initial indications point to a stress-induced heart attack. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Since the exertion of fighting the rip current likely contributed to the heart attack, this death was recorded as a rip current fatality.

Parkers Creek Flooded in several spots due to rainfall throughout the night of 2-3 inches. Flooding was estimated to begin around 2:30 am and ended by late morning. Both portions of Union Mill road and Walton Avenue were closed due to the high water.

The Pennypack gauge rose just above flood stage to 7.42 feet at 815Z. It was below flood stage by 830Z. A man jumped into the high waters during the overnight hours to rescue a dog. The man was swept away by the current and found dead at 9:30 am according to Law Enforcement and Media reports.

What this means
A best track is the record a warning agency settles on after the storm, not what it said at the time: position, maximum sustained wind and central pressure every six hours, revised against every observation that came in later. Category is the Saffir-Simpson scale, which runs from Category 1 at 64 kt to Category 5 at 137 kt and reads wind only, so it says nothing about surge or rain. Accumulated cyclone energy adds up the square of the wind through the storm's life, so it counts strength and duration together.
