A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck today Tazeh Abad district, Salas-e Babajani County, in the western province of Kermanshah. Red Crescent teams rendered relief services to the victims. The quake hit the region at 14: 45 p.m. local time on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the 8-kilometer depth of ground surface. The quake has injured 287 people so far, a number of them have received outpatient services by IRCS Relief workers and the others were dispatched to hospitals by EMS ambulances. Accordinfg to local officials, 951 residential buildings in cities and villages were damaged between 10% to 100%. The quake impacted 43 villages. It also shattered windows and cracked the walls of several houses in the counties of Salas_e Babajani, Kerend, Paveh, Sare-Pule-Zahab and Javanrood. (reference #12182)
