JAKARTA - Until this morning (30/5), local authority has been continuing to perform data collection in the field, especially numbers of damages and casualties. Temporary data of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sulawesi Tengah mentions that dozens of houses in Regency of Poso were cracked or slightly damaged. Based on the earthquake map analysis, the regency was impacted by a strong earthquake with intensity of V - VI MMI.

The temporary data of BPBD reported the impact in Sedoa Village, Lore Utara-Timur, Poso as follows, Sedoa Village 2 people were seriously injured and 1 minor injuries, 1 church and 1 clinic ‘polindes' collapsed, and dozens of houses were cracked. Impacts in Alitupu Village included 1 houses collapsed and one villager was severely injured, while in Wuasa Village, 3 houses were cracked and the fractures of soil emitted mud and sulfur smell. BPBD monitored that Lore Utara-Timur was the region that suffered the worst damages.

Meanwhile, in Poso City area, front part of the BNI's buildings was collapsed and long bridges were located near the 'smaker' post cracked. In the Poso Pesisir area, the damage occurred in Towu village, which consisted of 2 houses collapsed, 19 homes cracked and 1 injured. Damage in the Poso Pesisir Utara area includes Kilo Village (1 waga house collapsed), Bakti Agung Village (1 house collapsed), Tambrana Village (fences and buildings in SMP 2 collapsed). The local authority also reported that the parking lot building managed by local police station (polsek) in Lage Sub-district, Poso, collapsed, while there were no damages or casualties in the Poso Pesisir Selatan region, such as Pamona and Lore Tengah.

Due to emergency response, BPBD has coordinated and cooperated with related agencies and the police. BNPB also continues to monitor field progress and emergency handling after the earthquake. BNPB Rapid Reaction Team has been deployed to Poso to give assistance to BPBD. BPBD is still doing data collection of impacts.The Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has reported a 6.6 magnitude earthquake located at 38 kilometers northwest of Poso, 58 kilometers northeast of Sigi or 75 kilometers southeast of Palu, Central Sulawesi province on Monday (29/5) at 21:35 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred on land at a depth of 10 kilometers. The earthquake did not trigger tsunami. Until now there has been aftershocks as much as 14 times with the intensity of the earthquake that continues to shrink. It is natural that plate systems seek balance after an earthquake.
