A woman police officer died from shock on Thursday and 18 students were admitted to hospital following an afternoon tremor that hit the northwest region of Mwanza.The minor tremor that occurred at 12.56 p.m. lasting for 10 seconds caused the death of the woman police of Misungwi police station, said Ahmed Msangi, Mwanza Regional Police Commander. "The police officer was shocked by the tremor and she was rushed to Misungwi district hospital where she died while undergoing treatment," Msangi told a news conference in Mwanza city, located on the shores of Lake Victoria.
