An earthquake measuring 6.2 Richer Scale (SR) in Alor District, East Nusa Tenggara has caused thousands of houses were severely damaged and slighty damaged. The worst damage was in the village of Maritaing, South Kolana, Padang Panjang, in the district of East Alor where most homes were damaged. People in Alor today are still displaced in tents and homes of its citizens that were not affected by the earthquake. Earthquakes victims in East Alor prefer highland area as a place of refuge, fearing a tsunami and still traumatized by a similar tragedy in 1991. USD 9,040,530 in damages. 1,468 houses damaged.
