At 11.10 p.m. a great tremor took place. Rück in the ‘Industria’ of Sucre (copied in Ballivian 1909), supposes the centre to be in Tarabuco, because ‘the damage it has caused in Tarabuco is said to be considerable, particularly in the church where the vault is completely open and it is impossible to know how it is going to be untied, because nobody dares to go near it; besides, all the houses are cracked’. In Tacopaya, on the other hand, it was felt lightly, although it caused alarm in the Chupimolino hacienda a league away. (reference #14057)
