In Peru and Chile, tremors which toppled several towns. A mountain partially disappeared (2). Huot, l.c., gives again (without indication of source), a disastrous tremor in Peru in 1654 or 1656. Lima and Callao were damaged; 11 thousand victims were counted. (reference #1532)
