Our notes indicate that the year 1052 A.D. - 1053 A.D. witnessed two major earthquakes in Iran with epicentres at Arrjan (Khuzestan - Fars) and Baihaq (Khorasan). These were probably separate events as the two sites are some 1000 kilometres distant and a single quake is most unlikely to extend so far. (reference #1217)
