SVRGSP The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... East central Laurens County in Upstate South Carolina... Southwestern Union County in Upstate South Carolina... * Until 645 PM EDT. * At 559 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 14 miles south of Union, or near Whitmire, moving southwest at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Clinton, Joanna, Rose Hill State Park, Kinards, and Sedalia.

At 544 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles south of Union, or 5 miles northeast of Whitmire, moving southwest at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Rose Hill State Park, Carlisle, Sedalia, Tuckertown, and Santuc.
