...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... English River at Kalona affecting Washington and Johnson Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...English River at Kalona. * WHEN...Until Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water has overtopped roads causing closures. This includes 130th St, Kiwi Ave, Orange Ave and Poplar Ave. Extensive agricultural land near the river is flooded. Water begins backing into town on the north side of the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 17.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 AM CDT Monday was 18.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 6.6 feet Monday, September 28. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Tuesday morning.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... Iowa River near Lone Tree affecting Washington, Johnson and Louisa Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Iowa River near Lone Tree. * WHEN...Until Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Flood waters affect parts of Lola Lane and Y Avenue. River Junction Access Park is closed. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 15.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 16.8 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Tuesday morning.
