...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THIS EVENING
FOR ADAMS AND CENTRAL ARAPAHOE AND EASTERN ARAPAHOE COUNTIES...

At 354 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area were
starting to weaken. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches, roads,
         and poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Byers and Strasburg.

This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 307 and 319.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Wolf Creek, Mule Creek, Little Comanche Creek, Sherman Ranch
  Slough, Comanche Creek, East Bijou Creek, Bijou Creek, Antelope
  Creek, West Bijou Creek, Little Antelope Creek, Muddy Creek and
  Rattlesnake Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flash flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland along creeks, and other
low lying areas.

At 411 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing
flash flooding and a car stranded in water 1 mile west of Byers.
Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
