The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northeastern Hayes County in southwestern Nebraska...

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 915 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located 8 miles north of Hayes Center, and is nearly
  stationary.

  HAZARD...Tornado and hail up to two inches in diameter.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  northeastern Hayes County, including the following locations...
  Marengo and Hayes Center State Wildlife Management Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHEASTERN HAYES COUNTY IS CANCELLED...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However, hail up to 
nickel size is still possible with this thunderstorm and may become 
severe. 

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
southwestern Nebraska.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
North Platte.
