* WHAT...Strong, gusty northwest winds producing choppy surf and
  breaking waves up to 4 feet. A building swell producing a
  moderate risk for dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint 
  Lucie, Coastal Martin, Mainland Northern Brevard, Northern 
  Brevard Barrier Islands, Mainland Southern Brevard and 
  Southern Brevard Barrier Islands Counties.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Rough surf will make swimming conditions hazardous.
  Rip currents will also be present.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Entering the water, especially on a chilly day like today, is
highly discourages due to the hazardous surf and rip current 
conditions.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents and rough surf.

* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Coastal Indian River, Coastal Saint 
  Lucie, Coastal Martin, Mainland Northern Brevard, Northern 
  Brevard Barrier Islands, Mainland Southern Brevard and 
  Southern Brevard Barrier Islands Counties.

* WHEN...Through late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.

If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against 
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Low to mid level clouds continue to stream southeastward across
east central Florida tonight. Conditions are noticeably colder
and drier with temperatures falling into the 50s and upper 40s per
recent observations. With northwest winds gusting 20 to 30 mph,
wind chill values are beginning to fall near or below 40 degrees
north of Interstate 4. The current forecast is on track with lows
expected to bottom out in the mid 30s to around 40 degrees along
the coast. A Wind Chill Advisory is in place, starting at midnight
and continuing through 10 AM Saturday. Wind chill values are
forecast to reach the low 30s for several hours in the morning and
may even reach the upper 20s briefly, north of I-4.

Tonight (modified previous)...Latest observations from Buoy 41009
indicate wave heights are increasing with gusts just above 30
kts. Gale Warning is now in effect through Saturday for the
offshore waters/Gulf stream for frequent gusts to Gale force,
which will build seas 10-12 feet. Small Craft Advisory conditions
persist nearshore with 4 to 7 ft seas expected.

Much colder and drier air will overspread the area behind a strong cold
front tonight. Near-critical conditions expected on Saturday, with
Northwest winds 15 mph and gusty along with min RH values 35 to 40
percent. Winds decrease Sunday, as high pressure center moves closer and
the pressure gradient slackens, dropping to 10mph or less. However, min
RHs will be lower, falling to 30-35 percent with immediate coastal areas
expected to remain closer to 40 percent.

moving southeast across the terminals overnight. A gradual

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

.EXCESSIVE COLD IMPACT...
Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s tonight. Northwest
winds between 10 and 15 mph will combine with the cold air to
produce widespread wind chills in the upper 20s to lower 30s. A
Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for all of east central Florida
overnight. Be sure to dress appropriately for the cold, including
wearing a hat, gloves and a scarf. Be sure to bring your pets
indoors!

.RIP CURRENT IMPACT...
There is a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents at all central
Florida Atlantic beaches.

.WIND AND SEA IMPACT...
A Small Craft Advisory is currently in effect for all east
central Florida waters. Winds will continue to increase tonight,
gusting 25 to 35 knots. A Gale Warning has been issued for the
waters beyond 20 nautical miles starting at 10 PM for sustained
winds between 25 and 30 knots with gusts to gale force. Seas will
build up to 12 feet in the Gulf Stream.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
Temperatures will remain in the upper 30s into early Saturday
morning, then turn quite cold again Saturday night into Sunday
morning, with lighter winds as high pressure settles across the
area. This should produce even colder temperatures in the low to
mid 30s and patchy frost in wind protected areas. Temperatures are
also trending colder for Sunday night into Monday morning, with
rural areas west of I-95 forecast to fall below 40 degrees. Patchy
frost possible early Monday morning.

Conditions will remain hazardous in the surf zone Saturday with
choppy, breaking waves up to 5 feet and a strong southward flowing
longshore current. Hazardous boating conditions will continue
behind the front into this weekend with Small Craft Advisories
remaining in effect through Sunday afternoon.

Very dry air will overspread the area as high pressure settles
over Florida this weekend. The combination of dry air and breezy
to windy conditions will increase the fire weather danger on
Saturday.
