...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AST THIS EVENING 
FOR AIBONITO AND COAMO COUNTIES...

At 351 PM AST, Recent USGS gauge reports indicated thunderstorms 
producing heavy rain continue across the warned area. Excessive 
runoff continue to affect Rio Coamo and its tributaries which is 
currently at minor flood stage of 10.0 feet. Between 1 and 4 inches 
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are 
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. Excessive runoff
         from recent and expected rains

SOURCE...Gauges reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Coamo, Aibonito, Los Llanos, Pastos, Mariano Colon and Palmarejo.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not 
drive on flooded roads.Stay away or be swept away. River banks and 
culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
