The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southeastern Rowan County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 245 PM EDT.
    
* At 213 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located 7 miles northwest of Albemarle, or 6 miles north of
  Plyler, moving north at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  southeastern Rowan County.
