The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Franklin County in east central Kansas...
  Southern Osage County in east central Kansas...

* Until 545 PM CST.

* At 508 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Melvern Lake,
  moving east at 70 mph.

  HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Spotters reported two inch hail 
           east of Emporia at 500 PM. 

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ottawa, Wellsville, Pomona, Quenemo, Melvern, Rantoul, Olivet and
  Melvern Lake.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 171 and 198.
