  Horse Creek Near Arcadia at SR 72 affecting DeSoto County.

.Scattered to numerous showers each afternoon will cause the water 
level along the Horse Creek at Arcadia and Peace River at Arcadia to 
rise into Flood Stage.

For the Peace...including Bartow, Zolfo Springs at SR 17, Arcadia at 
SR 70...Minor flooding is forecast.
For the Horse Creek...including Arcadia at SR 72...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

.UPDATE...
Deep moisture remains across the area with morning TBW sounding
indicating precipitable water still over 2 inches with a light
east to southeast low level flow. This should set us up for more
scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and
evening as daytime heating combines with the sea breezes. Highest
rain chances look to be lining up from southwest Florida north
east of the Interstate 75 corridor later this afternoon and early
evening. Convection will wind down during the evening and drift
west out into the gulf waters overnight. Light east to southeast
flow this evening will begin to shift to west to northwest
overnight just off the surface as the weak cool front moves into
the southeast states. This could bring a few showers and
thunderstorms back to the coast toward morning. Then with daytime
heating on Wednesday and a low level west to northwest flow we
should see another day of scattered to numerous convection with
the highest chances over the interior and eastern half of the
Florida peninsula during the afternoon and evening. Overall
current forecast looks on track at this time.

.AVIATION...
IFR/LIFR ceilings have dissipated over southwest Florida with VFR
conditions expected to prevail. However, numerous showers and
scattered thunderstorms are anticipated this afternoon and evening
which may impact terminals causing MVFR/local IFR conditions.
Light winds will become west to northwest at 5 to 10 knots this
afternoon then shift back to east this evening before becoming
light overnight.

DISCUSSION...
A couple more wet days...then a significant pattern change with
decreasing PoPs late in the week and over the weekend. For today
and Wednesday, deep tropical moisture will persist over the
region. Conditionally unstable atmosphere combined with daytime
insolation will generate numerous showers and scattered
thunderstorms with locally heavy rain. Convection will gradually
stratify and dissipate during the evening hours each day.

A strong U/L disturbance will dig over the Ohio River Valley
mid week and rotate northeast over southern Canada late in the
week. This lead system will push an associated cold front across
north Florida late Wednesday...stalling across the central
peninsula on Thursday. Drier air will advect over the northern
peninsula in the wake of the front with lower pops...however
tropical moisture will remain pooled south of the boundary across
the central/southern peninsula. Increasing onshore flow will push
highest pops over the interior. Secondary U/L disturbance will
dig down the backside of the trough over the Great Lakes during
the weekend which will gradually push the frontal boundary across
the central peninsula south over the weekend with drier air and
lower pops advecting across the remainder of the forecast area
with dew points dropping into the 60s.

MARINE...
Benign conditions expected across the waters through the week
with winds less than 15 knots and seas less than 3 feet through
the period. Winds may become a bit elevated Wednesday night in
the wake of a cold front, but should remain below exercise caution
levels. Main hazard will be isolated to scattered thunderstorms
which may produce locally gusty winds and rough seas.

FIRE WEATHER...
No fire weather hazards are expected for the next several days as
relative humidity values are expected to remain above critical
levels
